Dutch H2CoVE Partners Engage Visitors with Hydrogen Serious Gaming at the New Energy Forum

On 18 June 2026, Dutch H2CoVE project partners participated in the New Energy Forum, one of the Northern Netherlands' leading annual events for professionals, students, and anyone interested in the future of mobility and energy.

During the forum, Noorderpoort, DCTerra, New Energy Coalition, and Entrance at Hanze, in collaboration with Gasunie, hosted an interactive serious gaming session. The activity introduced participants to the opportunities and challenges of hydrogen within the broader energy transition through PowerPlay, Gasunie's educational serious game.

The session combined expert discussion with hands-on decision-making, allowing participants to explore how hydrogen interacts with electrification and energy storage technologies. By taking on different stakeholder roles, visitors experienced the complex trade-offs involved in developing a sustainable hydrogen ecosystem and gained a deeper understanding of the hydrogen value chain.

Through this interactive approach, the Dutch H2CoVE partners demonstrated how serious gaming can make complex energy transition concepts more accessible, encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, and informed decision-making among future professionals.
