H2CoVE heads to the Forum on Vocational Excellence 2026 in Graz

The H2CoVE project will take part in the Forum on Vocational Excellence 2026 in Graz, Austria, joining the European Community of Practice of Centers of Vocational Excellence for one of the key annual gatherings in vocational education and training.

As part of the Forum program, H2CoVE is organising a sectoral parallel session on 9 September 2026, from 10:30 to 12:00, titled:

“How Hydrogen CoVEs Accelerate the Green Energy Transition: Progress, Gaps and Ways Forward”

The session will bring together the only three hydrogen-focused Centers of Vocational Excellence projects in Europe: H2CoVE, H2Excellence, and H2VE. This joint contribution marks an important moment for the hydrogen skills ecosystem, creating space for the three projects to exchange insights, compare progress, and discuss how vocational excellence can better support the green energy transition.

Hydrogen is becoming an increasingly important part of Europe’s clean energy future. However, the transition does not depend on technology alone. It also requires skilled professionals, responsive education systems, and strong cooperation between vocational education and training providers, higher education institutions, industry, regional actors, and policymakers.

The session will focus on three central questions:

  • What progress has already been made by hydrogen CoVEs in building regional and European skills ecosystems?
  • Where are the current gaps in hydrogen education, training and workforce development?
  • What practical steps are needed to strengthen collaboration and accelerate the green energy transition?

By bringing H2CoVE, H2Excellence, and H2VE together, the session aims to connect complementary experiences from different regions, sectors, and project approaches. The discussion will highlight how hydrogen CoVEs can support curriculum development, upskilling and reskilling, industry cooperation, regional innovation, and long-term capacity building.

Participation in the Forum will provide an opportunity for H2CoVE, H2Excellence, and H2VE to exchange experiences and discuss how Centers of Vocational Excellence can support hydrogen skills development and the green energy transition.

The Forum on Vocational Excellence 2026 will provide a strong platform for exchange, reflection, and cooperation. H2CoVE looks forward to contributing to the discussion in Graz and to working together with H2Excellence and H2VE to strengthen hydrogen education and skills for the green energy transition.
